The black iteration of the KAWS x Air Jordan 4 Retro hit the market in November 2017, a few months after the highly acclaimed collaboration between the prestigious Brooklyn artist and Air Jordan. Following the release of the grey colorway in March 2017, this version maintains the all-suede upper, exquisitely adorned with a refined tonal print portraying KAWS' iconic Companion figure's cartoon hands. Notably, these hands are cleverly positioned beneath the translucent outsole, which illuminates in the dark. Adding a unique touch, the artist's recognizable 'XX' insignia is juxtaposed with Nike's 'AIR' trademark, proudly displayed on the heel of the sneakers. These seem like good shoes. I've had them around two weeks. They were inexpensive and I didn't have super-high expectations for them, basically bought them to work in the garden and such. They're solidly made, though they are plastic - there's no leather or suede on these. They're very comfortable and ran true to size for me. Foot and arch support is good. I have no complaints. Time will tell whether the problems that others have encountered with the soles splitting happens to me. So far, these seem to be in good shape.
